Meet Kim

Kimberly Jordan is a 59-year-old wife, mother, grandmother, and proud Maryland native from Salisbury. Raised on the Eastern Shore by her mother and older sister, Kim has always found joy in spending time with family, traveling to Maine, listening to live music, being out on the water, and, more recently, tending to her garden.

Earlier this year, Kim's life changed unexpectedly when she discovered a lump and scheduled an appointment to have it examined. After undergoing a biopsy, she received a phone call that left her stunned. She had breast cancer.

It was complete shock," Kim shared. "I was very scared when I found out.

Kim was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer involving two tumors in each breast. She recently began chemotherapy and describes the experience as both physically and emotionally challenging, but she remains motivated to keep moving forward. Through every treatment and appointment, she has been grateful for the incredible support and care provided by her medical team.

For Kim, the hardest part of the journey has been facing the uncertainty that comes with a cancer diagnosis. As a grandmother of four, her greatest hope is simple: to be present for the moments that matter most.

I want to be here to watch my children and grandbabies grow up.

Fortunately, Kim has never had to face this battle alone. Her mother, Linda, calls every day to check on her. Her sister, who is a nurse, has been a constant source of guidance and encouragement. Her husband, Danny, has stood beside her through every doctor's appointment and every difficult moment, providing unwavering love and support.

When Fightstrong Foundation learned about Kim's journey, we wanted to help ease some of the burden that cancer treatment can place on a family. Through our partnership with Victory Foundation, we coordinated a $1,000 grocery donation to support Kim and her family during treatment.

What made this donation especially meaningful was the team that came together to make it happen. Members of Victory's Maryland office—including VP of Maryland Sales Pat Vizzoni, Senior Sales Representatives David Morante, Jose Marrero, Joshua Melilli, and Oscar Monterroso, along with Workplace Experience Coordinator Irene Bich—used Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to personally shop for groceries and household essentials for Kim and her family.

Their willingness to give not only financially, but also with their time, transformed a donation into a true act of community support. Together, they reminded Kim that an entire network of people is standing beside her throughout this journey.

Despite everything she is facing, Kim continues to focus on the things that bring her joy and purpose. Her advice for others battling cancer reflects the mindset that has helped carry her through some of her most difficult days:

"Keep active and keep moving. The more you dwell on it, the more you can spiral. For your mental health as well as your physical health, just keep going."

Kim's strength, positivity, and determination serve as an inspiration to everyone around her. We are honored to share her story and proud to stand beside her as she continues her fight.
