how we donate

Our Process

We understand how overwhelming a cancer diagnosis can be—not only for the patient, but for their entire support system. At Fightstrong, we’re committed to easing that burden by providing meaningful, cherishable gifts—like TVs, gift cards, toys, or other items that can bring comfort, joy, or a moment of escape during a challenging time.

To request a donation, simply complete our form with your contact details and a brief description of the patient’s journey. Each request is personally reviewed with care and attention.

What makes our process unique is our commitment to connection. Whether in person or virtually, Joseph and Michelle personally meet with every individual or family receiving a gift. These visits are an essential part of our mission—because we believe support means more when it’s face-to-face, heart-to-heart.

Every story matters. And every donation is made with love, respect, and a shared sense of strength.

Fill Out the Form

To get in touch with us, please complete the survey with all required details. Providing accurate information helps us better understand your needs. Please note, we currently only serve individuals located in the tri-state area.

Allow Us to Review

As a small nonprofit organization, we take the time to carefully review every submission. This process may take a few days, but rest assured, we are committed to getting back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

We'll Reach Out

Our mission is to assist as many individuals as possible within the tri-state area. While we aim to respond within three business days, this timeframe may vary depending on the volume of requests. We appreciate your understanding.

Sharing Your Story

We believe storytelling inspires and spreads awareness. Sharing your journey highlights your strength and the impact of our mission. You control what you share, and we’re grateful for any part you contribute.

Your First Step Towards Support

Requesting help is never easy, and we want to applaud you for taking this important first step. Whether you know exactly what you need or you’re not quite sure yet, please know you’re not alone—many families feel the same way. We’re here to listen, to brainstorm together, and to make sure you or your loved one feels supported in a way that truly matters. Don’t be shy—sometimes the best ideas come from simply talking it through with us.

An Experience

Looking for something fun to do? We’d love to help create memories that bring joy, relief, and positivity during your journey. Whether it’s a simple outing or a bigger adventure, we’ll try our best to make it happen.

  • Tickets to a sports game, concert, or theater show
  • A family day at the zoo, aquarium, or amusement park
  • Dinner at a favorite restaurant or a weekend getaway
  • Fun experiences like mini-golf, bowling, or a movie night

Everyday Goods

Day-to-day essentials may feel small, but they can make all the difference in keeping life steady and comfortable for both children and families. We’re here to provide practical support so you don’t have to worry about the little things.

  • Clothing and shoes for growing kids
  • Toys, books, or games to keep spirits up
  • Household necessities like toiletries or bedding
  • Comfort items that make everyday life a little easier

Gift Cards

One of our most popular requests—especially among parents. A gift card gives the freedom of choice and the chance to pick exactly what’s needed, whether it’s practical support or a moment of indulgence.

  • Grocery stores or big-box retailers
  • Gas stations to help with travel to appointments
  • Restaurants for family meals out or takeout nights in
  • Clothing stores or specialty shops for a personal treat

Household Help

Cancer affects the whole home, not just the patient. By providing supportive services, we can help ease the everyday burdens so families can focus on what matters most: each other.

  • Cleaning services to keep the home fresh and organized
  • Meal prep or delivery services to save time and energy

Technology

Treatment days can be long and challenging, but technology can provide comfort, distraction, and even connection with friends and loved ones.

  • Tablets or laptops for streaming, schoolwork, or staying in touch
  • Gaming consoles and video games for distraction and fun
  • Headphones, speakers, or other accessories for music and entertainment

And More!

Sometimes the most meaningful requests don’t fit neatly into a category. If you have something special in mind, big or small, let us know—we’ll try our best to make it happen!

Find Support Near You

The hardest part of our mission is ever having to say “no” to a family. Usually, the only reason is geography—when someone lives outside the tri-state area we currently serve. As a small nonprofit, our resources must remain focused on those within our reach.

But we took this to heart and created a way to still help. This growing page is designed for families we cannot directly support, offering a carefully curated resource guide of trusted organizations that provide financial, emotional, and practical assistance.

Please take your time exploring the sections below, and if you’re unsure where to begin, reach out—we’ll gladly do our best to point you in the right direction.
