Meet Chris.
Chris Clarke is a 64-year-old from Annapolis, Maryland, and one of eleven siblings—a testament to the deep-rooted importance of family that has shaped his life. Whether it’s spending time with his kids and grandkids, driving his Mustang, or making memories at the beach in Ocean City, Chris has always been someone who finds joy in the simple, meaningful moments.
In November of 2025, Chris’s life took an unexpected turn. After receiving irregular urine results, he was referred to a urologist, where a biopsy ultimately revealed that he had prostate cancer. Like so many others facing this diagnosis, the initial feeling was fear—fear of the unknown, fear of what lies ahead. While his treatment plan is set to begin in late April, including testosterone blockers and targeted radiation, one of the hardest parts of this journey has been the waiting. The uncertainty of when treatment begins and how long it will take has been one of Chris’s greatest challenges.
Through it all, Chris has leaned on what matters most—his family. Having seen other family members go through similar battles, he understands both the weight of the journey and the strength it requires. But it’s his kids and grandkids who continue to fuel him every single day. His motivation is simple and powerful: to be there, to watch them grow, and to continue being a part of their lives.
Chris stays grounded in his mindset, living by the phrase, “Don’t sweat the petty things, pet the sweaty things.” It’s a reminder to focus on what truly matters, to keep pushing forward, and to not let fear take control.
When Chris’s son, Andrew—who works in Victory Home Remodeling’s Maryland office—shared his father’s story, his leaders immediately stepped in. They connected with the Community Impact team, who then partnered with Fightstrong Foundation to ensure Chris and his family felt supported during this time.
Together, we were able to create a moment of joy in the middle of uncertainty. Fightstrong Foundation sent Chris and two of his sons to a Washington Capitals game and treated them to lunch—giving them a chance to step away from the stress of diagnosis and simply be together as a family.
Andrew shared:
Seriously, thank you so much guys….you guys are really going above and beyond and I can’t thank you enough. With all the support, I know my dad is going to get past this.
Chris’s story is a reminder that even in the most uncertain moments, support can come from places you may not expect. His message to others is simple, but powerful: keep pushing, don’t be afraid, and remember how many people are standing beside you.
We love you guys and we cannot wait to see you overcome this battle, Chris!
