Meet Ever.
Ever Espinoza is a bright, strong, and resilient 7-year-old whose world changed in March 2025. In the months leading up to his diagnosis, Ever was constantly getting sick with random colds and frequent headaches. About a month before doctors had answers, he began experiencing pain and swelling in his arms and elbows. What first appeared to be a fractured left elbow resulted in a cast, but shortly after its removal, Ever’s right elbow began to swell as well. That was the moment his mom, Nancy, knew something was seriously wrong. She took Ever to the hospital—and from that point on, everything changed for their family.
Ever was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). His treatment journey has been filled with ups and downs, especially once he entered intensive chemotherapy. Losing his hair was incredibly difficult for Ever, and the side effects of treatment—constant nausea, vomiting, and headaches—have been exhausting both physically and emotionally. Despite everything, Ever continues to show a level of bravery far beyond his years.
The diagnosis impacted not only Ever, but his entire family. Around the same time, Ever’s grandfather was also battling cancer, making the emotional weight even heavier. As the youngest grandchild, Ever’s diagnosis shook everyone deeply. Still, his family came together—leaning on faith, prayer, and fasting—holding onto hope that this season will pass. Ever still has about a year of treatment ahead, and his family is praying that 2027 will mark a new chapter of healing and health.
Nancy shared openly how overwhelming this journey has been—not just for Ever, but for her as a parent navigating the fear, uncertainty, and emotional weight that comes with a childhood cancer diagnosis:
“This process isn’t easy. It’s okay to cry, to feel angry, sad, and confused. As a parent, I felt like I had to hold everything in so my son wouldn’t see me upset. I had a complete meltdown a month after finding out he had cancer. Talking to other parents going through the same situation helped a lot. Taking some time for myself to let everything out helped too. This process is like waves. Something that also helped me was praying to God for strength.”
When we had the opportunity to meet Ever and his mom over FaceTime, we were able to hear their story firsthand and learn more about Ever—not just as a fighter, but as a kid. Ever loves playing Roblox, gaming on his Nintendo Switch, and spending time with his siblings. Nancy shared how much Ever wanted a new chair to make gaming and relaxing more comfortable during long days at home.
Because of that, Fightstrong Foundation was honored to donate a Nintendo Switch, new games, a brand-new desk, and chair—and after hearing how important that chair was to Ever, we upgraded his entire setup to give him a space that feels exciting, comfortable, and truly his own during treatment.
Ever’s journey is far from over, but his strength, honesty, and the love surrounding him continue to inspire us. We are grateful to stand beside Ever and his family as they continue to fight—together
We cannot wait to see you grow up, Ever! We love you and are praying for you!
