Meet Betsaida. At just 27 years old, she is a vibrant spirit filled with love for her beautiful two-year-old daughter. A self-proclaimed lover of games, Betsaida often finds herself engrossed in her iPad, escaping into the world of fun and creativity. When the holiday season rolls around, you can bet she is the first to turn on the Christmas music, filling her home with joyful melodies. Betsaida's passion for shopping, especially for her daughter, reflects her deep desire to see that radiant smile on her little one's face. Her warmth and infectious laughter radiate, making her the heart of her family.
However, life took a sudden turn when Betsaida visited the ER one day due to chest pain from a seemingly innocuous paper cut on her finger. What began as a minor concern quickly escalated when blood tests revealed the shocking news: she had a blast of Leukemia in her blood. The world around her shifted, and the weight of uncertainty settled heavily on her shoulders.
Betsaida was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and her journey has been nothing short of a roller coaster. The months that followed were filled with frequent hospital visits, numerous blood transfusions, and bouts of illness that challenged her at every turn. The severity of her condition culminated in an appendectomy, as her body struggled to cope. On July 10th, 2026, she underwent a stem cell transplant, with hope in her heart as she awaited her sister's cells to take hold in her body. The longing for that day when she would finally be cancer-free has become her guiding light.
Throughout this daunting ordeal, Betsaida faced her greatest challenge: the fear that she might not make it out of the hospital alive. The thought of leaving her daughter behind haunted her, but her mother’s unwavering support reminded her of the little one waiting at home, fueling her determination to keep fighting.
Betsaida's daughter is her greatest inspiration. The love and support from her family, husband, parents, and siblings have been her lifeline, standing by her side through the darkest of days. Together, they have created a network of strength and encouragement, reminding her of the importance of perseverance.
In her spare time, Betsaida enjoys unwinding with TV shows like "The Rookie" and movies such as "White Chicks" and "Ice Age." She cherishes moments spent walking with her mom, listening to true crime broadcasts, and painting with her daughter. These small joys bring light into her days, and she actively seeks ways to stay engaged, refusing to succumb to the confines of her illness.
Looking ahead, Betsaida dreams of becoming a mom again. She knows that the treatment she has received has altered her chances of carrying another child, but her hopes remain alive, fueled by the love she has for her daughter and the desire for a bigger family.
In a heartfelt message to the community, Betsaida emphasizes the importance of fighting through the darkness. "It’s hard, and there are moments when you want to give up, but there is always hope. Find joy in simple things, whether it’s watching movies with loved ones, going for walks, or enjoying a funny video."
Betsaida’s story is a testament to her resilience. She initially experienced symptoms that left her bewildered, dismissing them as mere coincidences. It wasn’t until she found a lump under her chin and consulted the internet that the word ‘Leukemia’ loomed ominously in her mind. The match between her symptoms—constant nausea, fatigue, and night sweats—led her to confront a fear she never thought she would have to face. The moment the doctor confirmed her diagnosis, reality sank in, but so did her resolve to fight.
