As the heart of spring approached, March was a month of meaningful progress for Fightstrong Foundation. We continued our mission of bringing comfort and joy to those battling cancer, with direct donations to two incredible families, the beginning of five new connections for April support, and continued behind-the-scenes work as we prepare to unveil our biggest announcement of the year on May 1st.

This month, we met Patty, a resilient 57-year-old single mother from Sayreville, NJ, who has endured an unimaginably difficult battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)—not once, but twice. Her journey has included a stem cell transplant, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and severe complications ranging from septic shock to brain bleeds. Throughout it all, Patty’s strength has shone through, fueled by the love of her children, her mother, and the community around her. To help relieve some of the financial strain during her recovery, we donated gift cards to ShopRite, Walmart, and Amazon so she could focus on healing. You can read her full story here.

We also had the honor of supporting Brielle, a brave 3-year-old girl fighting Stage IV Wilms tumor with metastasis to her lungs. Although we met over an online call, the strength of her spirit and the love between her and her mom was immediately felt. To brighten her days and provide support for her family, we donated an iPad Air with accessories and a $500 Amazon gift card to help ease some everyday burdens for her mom.

As we look ahead, we’re already in contact with five more families to coordinate April donations, and we’re putting the final touches on a major announcement that will be revealed on May 1st.
